The world will STOP for nine days in Swift Current

SWIFT CURRENT, Saskatchewan, March 4, 2009... The Host Committee for the 2010 Ford World Women's Curling Championship, to be held in Swift Current at the Credit Union i-plex, March 20-28, 2010, today unveiled its logo and announced that tickets for the much-anticipated event will go on sale on March 7.

Just weeks after participating at the Vancouver Olympics, many of the best teams in international women's curling will compete in Swift Current. There will be rinks from twelve countries and likely two or three of the Olympic medalists.

"Swift Current and Saskatchewan love the sport. Curling fans have been waiting for the release of these tickets since the November announcement that Swift Current would host this prestigious world event," said Barbara Walter, co-chair of the organizing committee. "We know that tickets are going to go fast—the Scotties Tournament of Hearts provincial championship was here in January and played to sell-out crowds."

Fans who purchase full event passes will get draw tickets for all nine days and entrance into Keith's Patch, located in the attached Swift Current Curling Club, where there will be nightly entertainment.

Full event passes go on sale Saturday, March 7 at 10 a.m. and are priced at $399.00 for the full package. (Service charges are extra). Fans wishing to purchase tickets can call Ticketmaster at 1-800-970-SEAT, locally at 306-938-7800, or order online at www.seasonofchampions.ca.
