Sorel-Tracy vise le vert pour le Championnat Canadien de Curling Junior 2010 M&M

Sorel-Tracy, le 22 décembre 2009 - Du 16 au 24 janvier 2010, la ville de Sorel-Tracy sera l'heureuse hôte du le Championnat Canadien de Curling Junior 2010 M&M.

Le Championnat canadien junior de curling 2010 se démarquera des précédents. Il sera un événement éco-responsable. Il intégrera, à toutes les étapes de son organisation, les principes du développement durable, philosophie défendue ardemment par la région de Sorel-Tracy depuis 15 ans, Le but premier est de réduire les impacts négatifs de l'événement sur l'environnement avec, entres autres la réduction des déchets générés et d'augmenter les répercussions positives de l'événement dont le commerce local et l'accessibilité à la compétition.

Grâce à la participation des élèves des écoles locales, un sondage sera administré au public et aux participants dans le but de déterminer l'impact qu'auront leurs déplacements sur l'environnement. Sur tous les sites, se trouveront des bacs de recyclage et de compostage clairement identifiés. La plupart de la vaisselle utilisée sera lavable et réutilisable.

Tout est pensé avec le respect de l'environnement en priorité, même les billets seront imprimés sur du carton fait de matière recyclée.

Sorel-Tracy goes green for the 2010 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors

Sorel-Tracy, December 22nd 2009 - From January 16th to 24th 2010, the whole city of Sorel-Tracy will be delighted to host the 2010 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors.

The Canadian Junior Curling 2010 differs from other curling championships as it will be a green event.  The event will integrate, at all stages of its organization, the principles of sustainable development, a philosophy ardently defended by the region of Sorel-Tracy for 15 years. The goal is to reduce the negative impacts of the event on the environment with the reduction of waste generated, among others, and to increase the positive impact of the event with local trade and accessibility to the competition.

With the participation of the local schools a survey will be administrated to the public and participants in order to determine the impact of their travel on the environment.
On all the sites, recycling and compost bins are going to be available and clearly displayed. Also, most of the dishes used are going to be washable and reusable.

Everything is made with the respect of the environment in mind, even the tickets are going to be printed on recycled cardboard.
