Junior Stars Program
Junior curlers who are a member of a curling club in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island will have a unique opportunity to get in on the action at the 2009 Ford World Men's Curling Championship being held in Moncton, NB from April 4 – 12, 2009. Twelve curlers between the ages of 12 and 16, as of April 4, 2009, will be selected to be an honorary member of a competing team.
Draw to the Button Competition
The Draw to the Button competition provides an opportunity for curling clubs from the different regions of the Maritimes to participate in this competition. Qualifiers from the curling club level will advance to the playoffs in Moncton during The Worlds. The first playoff will be held at Curling Beausejour in Moncton on April 10, 2009 where six people will qualify to advance to the semi finals. The semi final and the finals will be held at the Moncton Coliseum on April 11th and 12th, 2009 during fifth end breaks of playoff and championship games. Prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third place finishers.
Grand Transoceanic Match
The Grand Transoceanic Match (GTM) is a Funspiel, organized for spectators attending the Ford World Men's Curling Championship. We encourage participants from all countries, men and women to sign up and join us for a fun time on the ice.
