MONCTON, April 7, 2008... The 2009 Ford World Men's Curling Championship celebrated the grand opening of their Event Headquarters yesterday at Highfield Square. Vice Chairman of Media, Jacques Robichaud welcomed the delegation of 55 people who attended the grand opening. "We are absolutely thrilled to be at Highfield Square. It is a perfect location and layout for our office."

The 2009 event will be staged April 4-12 at the Moncton Coliseum.

Interest in the World Championship is very high in Greater Moncton, with brisk ticket sales and the level of sponsorship so far from our local businesses demonstrating the amazing support this community always shows for world class events.

The official ribbon cutting ceremony was conducted by Executive Vice Chair Susan Hicks along with Honorary Chair Mabel Deware, and the President's of the three Moncton curling clubs.

Event Website Launched

The 2009 Ford World Men's Curling Championship also announces the launch of it's Web site for the event . Curling fans can go to www.seasonofchampions.ca for all the information and details that are available on the championship.

Volunteers Needed

The 40 member host committee are currently looking for another 400 volunteers for the Worlds. Those wishing to volunteer for the Worlds' are asked to go to www.seasonofchampions.ca to register. Anyone unable to register on-line can contact the event office to get an application form. The website also offers all the information and details that are available on the championship.
