Event Information

In 1964 the first Canadian Mixed Curling Championship was held in Toronto under the sponsorship of O'Keefe Breweries. O'Keefe's maintained their sponsorship through 1970.

In 1973, the House of Seagrams assumed the sponsorship of the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship which was relinquished in 1983. New national sponsorship is currently being solicited for this ever popular aspect of the roarin' game.

Mixed curling continues to lead the way in the growth category in almost all clubs throughout Canada. Mixed curling is well and truly established in Canada and will most likely continue to grow in popularity in the years to come.

GETTING STARTED IN CURLING
This program will help you teach students the fundamentals of curling and you will guide them through various activities that take place in the classroom, the gymnasium and, finally, the curling rink. The practices and games provided in the program should give your students opportunities to learn new skills, improve their fitness, experience the enjoyment of playing on a team and have fun!
