Vernon, March 1, 2007 — The Host Committee for the 2008 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship today announced that tickets for the event go on sale 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 2nd at Ticketmaster and the event website is up and running and accepting applications from those wishing to Volunteer for the event coming to the Vernon & District Multiplex, March 22-30, 2008.
Event Chair Rob Pringle indicated, “Curling fans and non curling fans alike have been calling for weeks wanting to be first in line to get tickets for the event. Some have even changed travel plans and considered camping out at 5 a.m. on March 2nd at the Ticketmaster office in Vernon to get just the right seat for the event,” continued Pringle. “Although Ticketmaster has not been selling Season of Champions curling tickets long, they have quickly realized that Curling Fans are very particular about where they sit and know exactly what they want when they call to purchase tickets.”
The Full Event package includes tickets for all 9 days of curling; approximately 21 Draws (including tiebreakers and finals), Opening and Closing Ceremonies and entrance into the social heartbeat of any Curling Event, Keith’s Extra End Patch. The Patch as it is traditionally known, offers entertainment (local and national), food and dancing every day until the wee hours.
“This is where the event theme “Rockin the Okanagan” will truly come to life,” continued Pringle. “We expect to fill the Multiplex for 9 straight days and show the World that Vernon and District know how to put on one amazing show for the World while showcasing our beautiful city and Valley.”

Call for Volunteers
The success of any event is dependent on the volunteers that rally around the event. The 2008 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship is now accepting applications for 400 volunteers. Interested people can register on line at www.fordworlds.ca/2008.
