VERNON, B.C. -- Japan's Moe Meguro defeated Denmark's Angelina Jensen 7-3 in a playoff tiebreaker game here at the 2008 Ford World Womens Curling Championship Friday morning.

The victory means Japan will now advance to face Switzerland's Mirjam Ott Friday afternoon in the page playoff 3 vs 4 game. The game will be televised live by TSN at 4 p.m. ET.

The winner of the 3 vs 4 game will advance to Saturday's semi-final where they will face the loser of Friday night's 1 vs 2 game, pitting China's Bingyu Wang against Canada's Jennifer Jones. That game will also be televised live on TSN, beginning at 9 p.m. ET.

The winner of the Canada-China game advances straight to Sunday's final.

Japan jumped all over Denmark early, stealing a single in the the third end and then adding a steal of two in the fourth end to take a commanding 4-0 lead.

The loss was a bitter one for the Danes. Last year's world silver medallists could have locked up a playoff spot with a victory over Sweden Thursday afternoon but they were beaten and forced to play Japan in the tiebreaker.
