The 2008 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship Host Committee is pleased to join forces with Silver Star Mountain Resort supported by Cimco for the inaugural Jam Can Curling challenge where dignitaries, local celebrities and media go head-to-head for curling bragging rites. This year’s Jam Can Curling challenge will launch event day passes and single tickets and the addition of curling as another Winter activity for resort guests. Day passes and single draw tickets are now available for the 2008 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship. The Ford World Championship takes place at the Vernon and District Multiplex in Vernon, British Columbia, March 22-30, 2008.
"Our host committee is excited to join with Silver Star Mountain Resort in bringing the Worlds to the Mountain. This Jam Can Curling event is the perfect way to launch our final ticket package," said 2008 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship Host Committee Co-chair, Rob Pringle. "The support that we have received from the region is exemplified in this partnership with one of our premier tourist destinations and it is only fitting to launch our final ticket offering at an event that will continue into the future” added Pringle.
Ian Grant, Silver Star Mountain Resort CEO will be giving us a glimpse of his rock tossing style during the Jam Can Curling Challenge with Silver Star’s “Rolling Stones” along with “Lords of the Rings” Colin Mayes, Tom Christensen, Wayne Lippert, Jerry Oglow, Gary Corner, “Sweeping Beauties” Rob Pringle and members of his Host committee and local media celebrities from CHBC “Rock Stars”, Kiss FM’s “One Hit Wonders” and the Vernon Morning Star “Baby Broomers”.
“Silver Star has always prided itself in being an important part of the community by supporting events such as Winter Carnival over the years and this year the Worlds,” said Ian Grant. “At the same time we are continually looking for ways to improve the Winter Sport experience for our guests and Jam Can Curling on Brewer’s pond will be a fun-filled activity that will attract the interest of many of our foreign and local visitors.” "We invite everyone to come to the mountain to ski, board, cross-country, play hockey, skate and now enjoy Jam Can Curling at Silver Star,” concluded Grant.
Proud Supporter of the 2008 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship and Jam Can Curling at Silver Star is CIMCO Refrigeration, an acclaimed industry leader in ice rink technologies.
CIMCO’S Ashley Tyndall commented, “Brewers Pond, although not one of the company’s over 4500 ice surfaces installed worldwide, is a perfect venue for this entertaining event and an appropriate way to create new fans for the wonderful sport of curling. We are please to be involved and look forward to the success of the 2008 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship in Vernon.”
The Ford World Curling Host committee is now in the final stages of preparing to host curlers, fans and officials from across the world and the team of volunteers are doing a tremendous job in getting everything in place.
"The excitement is definitely growing to a fever pitch," added Pringle. "With single draw tickets, we now have a wide variety of ticket packages that are designed to meet everyone's needs, whether they wish to take in one draw, several draws or join us for the entire nine days. We encourage everyone who hasn't purchased a ticket to do so, and join us for what will be a memorable event."
Single Draw tickets are now available for any individual draw from March 22 - 30, 2008.
