John Shea Insurance Canada Cup QUALIFIER for WOMEN
A Qualifying Event for the 2009 Canada Cup of Curling

Thursday, December 11 to Monday, December 15, 2008 at the Ottawa & Rideau CC – Ottawa, ON

The JSI Canada Cup Qualifier for women features 48 teams in a triple knockout format. The four semi-finalists will advance directly to the Canada Cup of Curling (March 18-22, 2009 in Yorkton, SK) joining the winner of the 2008 Tournament of Hearts - Jennifer Jones, the defending Canada Cup champion - Stefanie Lawton and the 2008 Player’s Champion - Amber Holland.

The remaining 3 invitations will be offered to the teams on the Canadian Team Ranking System (CTRS) for September 1 – December 16, 2008 not already qualified. (Note: Any team earning more than one invitation to the Canada Cup of Curling, will relinquish the second (or third) invitation to the next available team on the CTRS for the period of September 1 – December 16, 2008.)

ENTRY FEE
The entry fee is $1,260 (the WCT Fee of $60 is included).

SEEDING
The Canada Cup Qualifiers will be seeded based on the Order of Merit on November 26, 2008. At the conclusion of the qualifying round, the qualifiers will be re-seeded according to the same Order of Merit for the championship round. During the championship round games, the choice of last rock or colour will belong to the team qualifying from the higher section: A, B or C. In games between teams from the same section, a draw to the button will take place to determine choice.

The rates in Ottawa are $109 for a semi suite with two double beds or $119 for a one bedroom suite (one queen bed and queen size sofa bed).

TRANSPORTATION
Both events will offer complimentary transportation to and from the airport and between the hotel and curling club(s).

TEAM SPONSORSHIP
Team sponsorships will be sold by the host committee and your team has the opportunity to purchase this sponsorship on behalf of your team sponsor. At a cost of $300, your sponsor’s company name will appear in the program, on the web site and on the scoreboards along side the skip’s name. Download form

To assist the host committees of each event, we would appreciate it if you would send a high resolution digital photo of your team (skip to lead left to right). JPGs are fine with a minimum of 300dpi.
