Winnipeg, MB. - Tues. Nov. 20, 2007 -- If you’ve got a curling fan on your Christmas shopping list, you may want to check out the new “Rocks in your Socks” ticket package unveiled today by the 2008 Tim Hortons Brier to be held March 8-16, 2008 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
The “Rocks in your Socks” ticket package is a great stocking stuffer and offers curling fans two (2) passes covering all three draws on one day for the low price of only $49. They are available Sunday March 9 through Wednesday March 12 and allow two people to enjoy a full day of curling action, including access to the famous Brier entertainment venues – The Purple Heart Lounge and the Keith’s Brier Patch located at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. The “Rocks in your Socks” ticket packages go on sale Wednesday, Nov. 21 and are available online at www.seasonofchampions.ca or by phoning Ticketmaster at 204-669-3333 or in person at the MTS Centre box office.

Also introduced today by the Winnipeg organizing committee were the official Tim Hortons Brier team supporters. Team Jeff Stoughton and Team Kerry Burtnyk have come on board to help local organizers promote The 2008 Tim Hortons Brier “Legends of Rock” and encourage all Manitobans to take advantage of the opportunity to see some of the greatest curlers in the game compete for the Brier Tankard and the Canadian Men’s Curling Championship title.
As long-time curlers who have had the honour of participating in previous Briers, both Burtnyk and Stoughton have noted there is nothing like playing before a home crowd. “Buying a ticket to the Brier – whether it’s for one day or the full week – is a guarantee that you are going to have a lot of fun and see some great curling. And there will be nothing better than having the MTS Centre packed every day with fans cheering for Team Manitoba. It’s going to be the place to be in March.”

About the 2008 Tim Hortons Brier
The 2008 Tim Hortons Brier will be held at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, March 8 – 16, 2008. The theme is “Legends of Rock.” The Winnipeg Convention Centre is a short walk from the arena and will be home to the Keith’s Brier Patch and Purple Heart Lounge.
