Ford Hot Shots (Preliminary round, Final Eight results)

WINNIPEG, Friday, March 7, 2008…The eight finalists in the Ford Hot Shots shot-making curling skills competition at the 2008 Tim Hortons Brier were determined after the preliminary round today involving 48 of the Brier participants at the MTS Centre.

Jason Vaughan, New Brunswick second                26 points
Ben Hebert, Alberta lead                                     25 points
Brent Laing, Ontario second                                 25 points
Steve Laycock, Saskatchewan lead                      25 points
James Grattan, New Brunswick skip                     25 points
Brad Gushue, Newfoundland and Labrador skip     24 points

The playoffs (final eight) take place Saturday, March 8 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm CT, following the Opening Ceremonies at 10:30 am.  The first draw starts at 2:00 pm CT.

Ford of Canada will provide the winner of the Ford Hot Shots at the Tim Hortons Brier with a two-year lease on an all-new 2008 Ford Fusion SEL V6, having an approximate retail value of $15,240.  The second place finisher will get a cheque for $2,000 while the third place finisher receives $1,000.
