Battle of the Bands Contest Brings Manitoba’s Young Talent to Centre Stage

Over the course of 6 weeks, mybar at Canad Inns Transcona was alive with Brier fever as local bands battled it out for the top prize of being dubbed “Future Legends of Rock” with a chance to play for thousands in the famous Keith’s Brier Patch. When the smoke had cleared Dolled Up and Bob’s Yer Uncle came away the winners.

Bob’s Yer Uncle will take the stage on Sunday, March 9th following Harlequin. Dolled Up will play on Wednesday, March 12th following That 70’s Band.

The Keith’s Brier Patch, on the 3rd floor of the Winnipeg Convention Centre, will open daily at 11:00 a.m. and will feature televised games on the big screen and a number of performers daily from March 8 – 16. The Keith’s Brier Patch will feature Trooper on Saturday, March 8, Harlequin on Sunday, March 9 and Kenny Shields and Streetheart on Friday, March 14. Up and coming country legends; The Road Hammers take the stage on Saturday, March 15. Also featured at Keith’s Brier Patch are the Carpet Frogs, Wonderland, Willie Mack, That 70’s Band and more.

On the 2nd floor, The Purple Heart Lounge brought to you by Peller Estates Proprietor’s Reserve features the Ray St. Germain Show, Thursday, March 13 and shows by artists such as Marty Grambo and Wailin Jailer. Comedians Mike Macdonald and Big Daddy Tazz are featured Monday, March 10.

2008 Tim Hortons Brier

The 2008 Tim Hortons Brier runs from March 8th – 16th at the MTS Centre. There are still great Brier seats available at amazing prices! Single draw tickets are now on sale from $18 per draw at www.ticketmaster.ca or by calling (204) 669-3333.
