Team Competition

The Team competition is a game of regular curling. Each side plays a total of 12 games (six men's games and six women's games).

Points

A total of six points are awarded for each game won. In the case of a tie, each side receives three points. A total of 12 team games are played, meaning a total of 72 points are available.

Rules

1. Each game will consist of eight ends.  Ties will NOT be broken.

2. Each team will be allocated 64 minutes per game.

3. Each team will be provided a 10-minute practice session prior to the start of each game. Team Europe will practice first for the first set of Team games (men and women) and Team North America will practice first during the second set of Team games (men and women).

Procedures for match-ups and determining last stone

1. The captain for Team North America will be asked to name his/her starting line-up for the game on sheet A.  The captain for Team Europe will then name his/her line-up for the game on sheet A.  The same procedure will take place for the games on sheets B and C.  However, on sheet B, the captain for Team Europe will first name his/her line-up followed by Team North America.  For the game on sheet C, it would again be the captain for Team North America who will be asked to name his/her team first.

2. The same procedure will be followed for the next set of three games, except this time the captain for Team Europe will name his team first.

3. Match-ups for the Team games will be completed prior to the Opening Banquet.

4. When each team completes its practice session a single draw to the button will take place to determine who has the choice of first or second stone in the first end.
